FAQ
Here are the most frequently asked questions and answers about tattooing:
Advice prior to tattooing
Before your tattoo session, we recommend that you avoid excessive consumption of aspirin (which thins the blood too much), anticoagulants, alcohol and drugs in the 24 hours preceding the session.
It's best to arrive rested and well nourished. Make sure you stay hydrated by drinking water.
To prepare the skin, moisturize it with a suitable cream, available from chemists or supermarkets, for 3 to 4 days before the session (morning and evening). This will help improve the quality of your skin, which your tattooist will appreciate.
Don't shave or wax the area to be tattooed before the session, to avoid any risk of pimples, rashes or injuries. Your tattooist will take care of this preparation before the tattoo.
During the session, wear comfortable clothes that won't compress the tattooed area when you leave.
After the session, during the healing period, wear a cotton bra if the tattoo is under the bra strap area. Avoid materials such as acrylic, synthetic or wool directly on the tattoo during this period.
Medical precautions to take into account
Medical contraindications to be taken into account:
- Pregnancy or up to six months post-partum (if breast-feeding).
- Ongoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
- Diabetes: a written agreement from your doctor is required.
- Hemophilia or anticoagulant treatment.
In the event of illnesses such as HIV or hepatitis C (HCV), please inform your tattooist when booking your appointment and via the health contract form that customers sign before their tattoo.
This form is strictly confidential; being open about this information allows tattoo artists to protect you and themselves to ensure a safe session. Protocols take longer and are different in these cases, so it's important to let us know.
It is essential to note that all equipment is single-use and is disposed of safely in specialized containers.
If your project involves an area with a scar, or a high-risk area such as eczema, it is imperative that you inform your tattooist of this before booking your appointment. In the event of a sudden rash on the body a few days before the session, please inform your tattooist so that he can decide whether to maintain or postpone the appointment. It is impossible to tattoo an area in the middle of a rash.
Don't forget to inform your tattooist if you find yourself in one of these situations before your appointment.
How do I make an appointment?
To book an appointment, please contact us by email or phone, or via Instagram/Messengers/WhatsApp, or simply visit the salon to reserve a work slot by making a deposit.
The amount of this is 20% of the total price of the project.
No deposit is required for walk-ins or Flash projects. However, we recommend that you call us before coming to check availability.
Please note that booking by phone does not guarantee a specific time, as this depends on the tattoos in progress.
Can I bring a date?
For the sake of hygiene, access to the tattoo room is reserved for tattoo artists and our customers only.
If you are accompanied, your companion may stay at reception (no more than one additional person) if your project does not exceed one hour. After that, we ask you to come alone.
Please do not bring your whole family or a large group of friends.
However, in the event of exceptional need, please make a request to reception, who will then decide whether to grant you access.
This policy is primarily motivated by reasons of hygiene, aimed at minimizing the risk of cross-contamination during tattooing sessions, as well as preserving the necessary calm, without noisy distractions that could disturb other customers and the tattooist.
We thank you in advance for your understanding, and for ensuring that you pass on this advice to your friends and family.
Is it possible to modify my project on the day of the session?
The tattooist can make minor adjustments to the design, provided this does not require more than 20 minutes of additional work.
However, for larger projects, if major changes are requested at the last minute, the appointment may be cancelled and rescheduled if necessary. In this case, a new appointment will have to be made, but the deposit paid for the first appointment will be non-refundable.
It is advisable to notify us by email or telephone before the big day, if any significant changes are planned.
After-tattoo care?
After your tattoo, we'll provide you with a detailed care sheet and give you verbal explanations.
We can also advise you on suitable pharmaceutical products and specific treatments recommended by our salon.
As a general rule, we always recommend leaving your skin alone, letting it breathe and heal naturally, as with conventional wounds. Protect it if necessary, and moisturize it from time to time with non-water-based products!
We recommend using organic coconut oil, which is a naturally healing product and ideal because it contains no water.
A check-up will be scheduled a month and a half after your tattoo.
For customers from further afield or abroad, this period can extend to a year.
It is recommended not to wear bracelets or watches over wrist tattoos, and to avoid contact with dog and cat hair.
During the healing period, it is forbidden to take baths if there is a risk of the tattoo being submerged; showers are preferable.
Saunas, steam rooms, UV units and swimming pools are also prohibited.
Avoid direct sun exposure and use SPF 50 sunscreen for the first year.
How much does a tattoo cost?
The price of a tattoo can vary according to several factors, such as size, design, complexity, location on the body and the artist's reputation.
For a precise estimate, we recommend that you consult our team directly.
We'll be happy to discuss your project and provide you with a customized quote.
Do you ask for deposits and what are they for?
Yes, we require a deposit to confirm the booking of your tattoo appointment.
This deposit corresponds to 20% of the total price of the tattoo. It serves to guarantee your commitment, to secure the tattooist's time, and also to avoid last-minute cancellations.
It also allows us to start working on the tattoo design in advance.
The deposit is deducted from the final cost of the tattoo session.
Here are the most frequently asked questions and answers about piercings:
How does a piercing session work?
The session begins by cleaning the area to be pierced, followed by marking the piercing location with a felt-tip pen.
After your approval, the driller performs the piercing using sterile gloves, equipment and needles (catheter). This is a quick step, often described as pinching.
The jewels used are made of Titanium (hypoallergenic).
How do I prepare for my piercing session?
Avoid alcohol and drugs, make sure you've eaten before the session, and choose comfortable clothes that won't interfere with the piercing.
What's the best location for a first piercing?
Choosing your first piercing depends on your personal taste.
Popular locations include the ear, nose, tongue, navel, or around the mouth.
It's important to choose a location you really like.
Can minors get pierced?
Minors must have written parental permission to have their teeth pierced (consent form to be completed).
The piercer may request the presence of a parent or legal guardian during the piercing session.
Which piercings are the most painful?
Sensitivity to pain varies from person to person.
In general, piercings that only penetrate the flesh, such as navel or tongue piercings, are less painful.
Cartilage piercings, such as those in the ear or nose, can be more painful and take longer to heal.
What are the risks associated with a piercing?
Risks include infection, allergic reactions, scarring and jewel rejection.
It is important to scrupulously follow the post-piercing care advice given with the consent sheet to minimize these risks.
How much does a piercing cost?
Prices vary according to the location of the piercing.
Prices vary from show to show, so compare before you decide.
Can a piercing close?
Yes, especially if it hasn't completely healed or if the jewel is removed for an extended period.
It's important to leave the jewel in place until healing is complete to prevent the hole from closing.
How do I know if my piercing is infected?
Signs of infection include redness, swelling, warmth, pain to the touch, and sometimes pus discharge.
In the event of these symptoms, it is crucial to consult a professional.
Can you swim with a recent piercing?
We recommend avoiding swimming in pools, lakes, the sea or jacuzzis (bacteria ++) during the healing period to prevent infections.
Prolonged exposure to water can delay healing and increase the risk of infection.
How long does it take for a piercing to heal?
Piercings take a long time to heal.
Lobe piercings, contour mouth, arcade, septum and smiley piercings take around 3 to 4 months. Cartilage, nose, bridge and nipple piercings take between 6 and 12 months.
Navel piercings, on the other hand, heal in around 12 months.
